A 5,000-year-old fragrance from the Bronze Age has been showcased at an exhibition opened on İstiklal Avenue.
Beyoğlu Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız attended the opening of the Ancient Fragrances Exhibition at Istiklal Art Gallery.
The exhibition showcases fragrances and incense originating from Anatolia, Egypt, Mesopotamia and Rhodes. The most putting function of the exhibition is the show of fragrance formulation ready earlier than Christ.
Bihter Türkan Ergül, the vp of the Fragrance Culture and Tourism Association, acknowledged they unearthed and translated the world’s first written fragrance components, an Assyrian-origin components from Mesopotamia.
“Working with 9 archaeologists, we current this fragrance to the guests coming to this exhibition in Istanbul. The world’s first fragrance components from the Bronze Age is being exhibited right here,” Ergül stated.
Stressing that the fragrance components from the Bronze Age consists of scents similar to frankincense, seal and resin essence, Ergül famous that there have been no flowers, spices, or fruits utilized in fragrances at that point, and due to this fact, it’s a scent that is a bit more totally different than persons are used to in modern occasions.
