For clothier Haithem Elkadiki, vibrant items and a summery perfume are important for frigid Calgary days.

Haithem Elkadiki is the designer behind the model KaaDiki. Whether he’s making T-shirts, coats, button-down shirts or swimsuits, his designs are brilliant and daring. Having lived in Calgary since 1998, Libyan-born Elkadiki has found out how to gown for chilly climate whereas sustaining his sense of fashion. The key? Colour. “It’s like gas for me. I stroll in every single place, so sporting color lifts my spirits,” he says. “Visual stimulation is necessary in winter when all the pieces is white and gray.” Elkadiki accessorizes his winter put on with vibrant socks, a classic Prada toque and Radish Vetiver, a Comme des Garçons scent mimicking the scent of moist grass. “Fragrance is like psychological empowerment to assist me exit into the chilly. Our winters are harsh, so each little factor helps.”
