The Thorntons chocolate shop on Parliament Street closed in January 2020.

A planning software submitted to City of York Council outlines inside and exterior alterations, together with a new shop entrance and modifications to the bottom ground structure.
There could be a new timber shopfront, glazing and sliding doorways. The fascia could be painted blue to match The Fragrance Shop model.
“The proposed modifications don’t deviate away from the accepted visible and materials frontage and inside of the constructing,” planning paperwork state.
