This relatively uncommon, however quaint, commentary by St John pertains to how, whereas at a dinner in his honour in the dwelling of Martha and Mary, and their brother Lazarus, whom Jesus had raised from the lifeless, Jesus has His ft anointed by Mary with a big amount of costly fragrance.
