Blackburn: Man gets community order for stealing Debenhams fragrances

A MAN was given a community order to have therapy for drug dependency after stealing over £420 price of fragrances from Blackburn’s Debenhams.

Nicholas Carlin, 50 from Cleveleys, stole a Calvin Klein perfume price £51.50 from the now closed Debenhams retailer in The Mall Blackburn on August 18 2020.

He then returned to the shop on August 20 and stole an additional 4 Dior perfumes valued at a complete of £376.

This introduced the full worth of the fragrances he had stolen to £427.50.

Appearing earlier than Lancashire Magistrates Court, Carlin pleaded responsible to each counts.

Carlin’s responsible plea was taken under consideration and he was given a community order and advised that by March 1 2022 he should adjust to a drug rehabilitation requirement and a rehabilitation requirement.

This requires him to have therapy for drug dependency by or beneath the course of the probation officer on the probation service as a non-resident for six months and to adjust to any directions of the accountable officer to attend appointments, with the accountable officer or another person nominated by them, or to take part in any exercise as required by the accountable officer as much as a most of 20 days.

Carlin was additionally ordered to pay compensation of £51.50.
