A group of researchers from the University of Florida and Arizona State University has discovered that eradicating black stripes on male leaping spiders does not improve their chances of being captured by prey. In their paper printed within the journal Royal Society Open Science, the group describes experiments they performed with leaping spiders.

In one form of leaping spider (Habronattus pyrrithrix), the male has two black stripes down its again whereas the feminine does not.
