Brighton builders ‘verbally abuse man for wearing makeup’

POLICE are asking individuals to return ahead after reviews a man was verbally abused by builders on the street for wearing make-up.

Brighton and Hove City Council mentioned it had acquired two reviews that builders in Lansdowne Place had been abusing individuals on the street this week.

Posting on Twitter on Monday, a man mentioned: “Just been harassed on Lansdowne Place by your employed builders as a result of I put on make-up.

“This is meant to be a metropolis in opposition to these sh***y stigmas and but you’re using those that harass individuals outdoors their properties?”

A council spokesman mentioned: “I’m actually sorry to listen to this, and I apologise on behalf of the council. You’re the second individual that’s complained.

“I’ll look into this now and allow you to know the end result as quickly as doable.”

The council official later clarified the builders didn’t work for the council, earlier than passing the incident to Sussex Police.

The spokesman mentioned: “I’ve checked and have been reliably instructed none of those individuals are council employees or individuals we have now employed or subcontracted work to.
